A great and effective remedy for those with circulatory problems in the legs and feet. However, the unit benefits all users. Regular use of this relaxing massage movement stimulates your body and achieves relaxation and stress reduction. 5Helps both my husband and me!  Mar 04, 2010
We tried a similar type of machine while visiting my parents over the holidays. It really took the stiffness out of my hubby's hips and back while we were away so we made it our business to get one when we returned home. There is a wide price range. After reading most of the reviews for all the machines, we chose this one, in large part for the reasonable price. Having been forewarned by previous reviews, I was prepared to pad the ankle cradle, and set aside the disk that came with it. Although our chronic hip/back/leg problems are different, both my husband and I find this machine a great help. Hubby says it "loosens things up" and relieves the stiffness. Just 5 minutes on the pre-programed routine and he's able to easily touch his toes and walk without pain along the sciatic nerve. I, on the other hand, have too much curve in my lower back, and eventually discovered, to my surprise, that the disk that so many users call "useless" is very helpful to me. I had to experiment with it's placement, but found that it actually pushes my pelvis forward while working the joints and haven't had a single moment of the groin pain I'd been experiencing at work where I'm on my feet 8-9 hours a day. This has been such a help to us, I've already bought another one for my daughter for her birthday!
We consider this a really good purchase. The controls are easy to manage without having to look at them all the time, and I particularly like the variations in the available speeds. I start slow and "warm up", gradually raising the speed, for the first 5 minutes, spend the next 5 minutes at about 10 or 11, then slowly back down for the final 5 minuts or until the machine shuts off. I try to keep my stomach muscles contracted toward the floor as much as I can, and for this reason, recommend that your start with 5-minute sessions and work up to longer. I actually had sore muscles the first few times I used the machine, and know that like any other form of exercise, you need to start slowly and not overdo. This conscious contraction of the stomach muscles is actually helping to flatten my stomach! Experiment with positions, like slightly twisting to one side or the other if you have chronic discomfort on one side. Pressing my back as flat to the floor as I can is helping to reduce the curvature in the small of my back. If you have too little curve in your back, place a small towel, folded three or four times under the small of your back as you swing. Try different things and you can customize your workout to your own unique situation.

4Good Vibes  Feb 20, 2010
I have not had this product long enough to determine whether or not it will prepare me for the senior olympics. However, I can say this appears to be a good machine for the money. I am pleased that I got it for about one quarter of the price of another machine I tested. My grandchildren have all done a test with it and that should say something. It has become something they all want to try out when they come over and that is almost enough to make it worth while. However, we are enjoying using it under our fish tank to agitate the waters so the poor fish won't miss their oceanic home. When I want to use it myself I only have to lift a 75 lb. fishtank, which is excercise, and enjoy the stimulation of having my feet whipped from east to west (I always lay down in a North/south direction) and read my books. It is kinda like reading and riding on a horse which carrys me back to days of yore. It is a very nostalgic piece to say nothing of convenient for many things.

5Sunpentown Heathy Swing Machine rules over Chi Vitalizer Machine  Feb 03, 2010
This review compares Sunpentown Healthy Swing Machine with Swivel Disc with Chi Vitalizer Machine. The Chi Vitalizer is a much heavier machine than the Sunpentown giving it the impression of being more durable but making it difficult for me to carry or move around without giving consideration to how to do it properly without hurting myself. The on/off button on my Chi Vitalizer may have been defective; one almost breaks a finger trying to get it to toggle from one position to the other. I do not know if all the Chi Vitalizers are made the same way or if it was just mine that was defective. While the Chi Vitalizer has a dial to dial in the speed you want, the Sunpentwon has soft touch buttons to increase or decrease speed OR you can switch from normal to auto mode so that the machine automatically changes the speed. While the Chi Vitalizer has no timer, just the rigid possibly broken on/off toggle, the Sunpentown has timer that you can preset to either 5 minutes, 10min, 15min, 20min, 25min or 30 minutes and the on/off button is also a soft touch button on the remote making the Sunpentown the clear winner against the Chi Vitalizer machine I tested it against. If they were the same price, I think the Sunpentown beats the Chi Vitalizer hands down BUT you actually save one hundred dollars by the sunpentown making it a no-brainer choice for me (why pay more for less?). I returned the Chi Vitalizer to Amazon but am keeping the Sunpentown. I was originally planning on keeping one upstairs to use on sleepless nights to relieve headaches and one downstairs for invigoration during the daytime; but have decided that the Sunpentown meets ALL my needs and I won't be trying a second machine.

4Sunpentown Swing and BPH Relief  Nov 30, 2009
I bought this machine after some research on the WEB due to my wifes problems with edema as a result of cancer surgery. We have learned, however, that it doesn't seem to do much to remove water retention. I run the controls for speed out to the sixth place for myself. Any faster the machine tends to 'walk' away from you on the floor. I weigh in at 190 lbs. I find pointing my toes toward my chest or placing my toes together keeps my ankles or heels from bouncing in the swing. It has reduced back pain for both of us and will aid skeletal alignment if we are not too knotted up. Therefore, it might already be sitting in the closet except for this one final note. I suffer from Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)or enlarged prostate and have for some years experienced a lot of associated pain from it. If you have it you know exactly what I am talking about. I have been prescribed different things by the doctor. Ibuprofen in 600 mg capsuls that takes from 20 minutes to an hour to remove the pain for example was my med of choice. That is, until I discovered that a 5 minute stint on the swing machine left me with NO PAIN. I believe the reason it may work is because it is similar to massage therapy. Anyway, the Sunpentown Healthy Swing will not go in the closet for some time. It is well worth keeping just for this purpose alone.

5Chi Machine a real Back Saver  Nov 08, 2009
After having lower back problems I had a friend mention this machine. I bought it, used it and found it to be a great help. After a hard day at work or the weekend "Honey Do" list I just lay down, hit 15 minutes and roll my pain away. The disc that comes with the machine is a waste and they should just stop including it. Can't imagine why you'd want to put that hard disc under your body. Works best on the floor.
